The Soundbone Concert Series features some of Newfoundland and Labrador’s top musicians in short video performances. The series reflects the diverse musical landscape of the Province, from folk to pop to classical. The concerts premiere bi-weekly at noon on Soundbone’s YouTube channel, starting August 8.
Sherman Downey – October 17
One of Newfoundland & Labrador’s most treasured artists, Sherman Downey has made a name for himself across the country as a performer and a songwriter. From his home in Corner Brook, Sherman sings three of his original songs. "Isadora Duncan" was inspired by a conversation about the strange ways people have passed. He wrote “Long Goodbye” after a chat with a lady at a gas station during a solo tour across Canada. “Deep in the Dark of the Jubilee Seam” was inspired by an old mine in Coal Brook, the small community in the Codroy Valley where Sherman grew up.

Silver Wolf Band is an Indigenous folk pop rock band from Happy Valley Goose Bay, Labrador. Their music is shaped and informed by family, community, love and their homeland itself.

The Dandelion Few – September 19
The Dandelion Few is the collaborative work of artists Tiffanie George (NL) & Seán Bradley (IRL) whose gentle modern folk music has been described as both beautiful and dark with touches of the recent past. They write music reflecting themes such as the ocean, gin-soaked barrooms, haunted mansions and almost everything in between.
Recorded at Wesley United Church in St John’s, the duo perform three of their original songs.

Award-winning singer/songwriter Kat McLevey, from St. John’s, NL, sings three of her original compositions. Self-recorded at her new home in Toronto, Kat’s songs explore themes of long-distance love and the growing pains of entering adulthood.
